About the Author :-

Martin Luther King Jr. was born in Albama (U.S.A.) in 1929. He became an ordained in 1947 then he became a minister of Bapist Church of Montgomery (Albama in U.S.A.) in 1954. He organised the Southern Christian Leadership Conference. He was influenced by Gandhiji and followed non – violence. He struggled for negro community. He delivered his speech on the steps of the Linchon’s Memorial in Washington on 28th August 1963. He received the Nobel Prize in 1964. His important works are Strength of Love, Stride Towards Freedom, The Montgomery Story, Why We can’t Wait etc. He was shot dead in 1968.

Summary:-

‘I Have a Dream’ is a speech, delivered by Martin Luther King Jr. . He was a great humanist. He wanted nothing but the freedom for the Negro Community. He struggled for their Civil Rights. He wanted to make Albama a developed nation. He says that a great American signed Emancipation Proclamation for the Negroes hundred years ago. It was a great hope for them, but they didn’t get freedom. Their condition is not changed. They do not enjoy freedom. They feel injustice, segregation and discrimination. They lead miserable lives. They are completely cut – off from society. They live in poverty and they have no charm in their lives. They are also the children of the same God. It is not easy to bloom them. He wants to continue to continue his struggle until they get the same right, opportunity, citizenship. He wants that there should be no difference between the black and white. He was in favour of continuing struggle with discipline and dignity. He thinks that the bank of justice for the Negro Community has been bankrupt. According to him, all men equal. He wants to remove the curtain of slaves and slavery. He wants that all races can sit together at the table of brotherhood. There should not be recognition of differences between the black and white. All should believe in merit, humanity and equality. After getting freedom, the Negro community will feel the great changing in their lives. He wants that all the black and the white people should walk joining hands. He hopes that his dream will be fulfilled one day. The Negro will get freedom. After that the high mountain will be made low, every valley will be a happy place to live in, everybody will sing the song of freedom everywhere. Then all will thank God for being same. So we can say that Martin Luther struggles for the welfare of Negro community. His speech is a message to all the downstream of the world.

मार्टिन लूथर किंग जूनियर का जन्म 1929 में अल्बामा (यू.एस.ए.) में हुआ था। वह 1947 में एक पादरी बने, फिर 1954 में वे मोंटगोमरी (यू.एस.ए. में अल्बामा) के बैपिस्ट चर्च के मंत्री बनेउन्होंने दक्षिणी ईसाई नेतृत्व सम्मेलन का आयोजन किया। वह गांधीजी से प्रभावित थे और अहिंसा का पालन करते थे। उन्होंने नीग्रो समुदाय के लिए संघर्ष किया। उन्होंने 28 अगस्त 1963 को वाशिंगटन में लिंचन मेमोरियल की सीढ़ियों पर अपना भाषण दिया। उन्हें 1964 में नोबेल पुरस्कार मिलाउनकी महत्वपूर्ण कृतियाँ हैं स्ट्रेंथ ऑफ लव, स्ट्राइड टुवार्ड्स फ्रीडम, द मोंटगोमरी स्टोरी, व्हाई वी कांट वेट आदि। उनकी 1968 में गोली मारकर हत्या कर दी गई थी।

'आई हैव ए ड्रीम' मार्टिन लूथर किंग जूनियर द्वारा दिया गया एक भाषण है। वह एक महान मानवतावादी थे। वह नीग्रो समुदाय के लिए स्वतंत्रता के अलावा कुछ नहीं चाहते थे। उन्होंने उनके नागरिक अधिकारों के लिए संघर्ष किया। वह अल्बामा को एक विकसित राष्ट्र बनाना चाहते थे। उनका कहना है कि एक महान अमेरिकी ने सौ साल पहले नीग्रो लोगों के लिए मुक्ति उद्घोषणा पर हस्ताक्षर किए थे। यह उनके लिए बहुत बड़ी आशा थी, लेकिन उन्हें आज़ादी नहीं मिली। उनकी हालत नहीं बदली है. उन्हें आज़ादी का आनंद नहीं मिलता. वे अन्याय, अलगाव और भेदभाव महसूस करते हैं। वे दयनीय जीवन जीते हैं। वे समाज से पूरी तरह कटे हुए हैं। वे गरीबी में रहते हैं और उनके जीवन में कोई आकर्षण नहीं है। वे भी एक ही ईश्वर की संतान हैं। इन्हें खिलना आसान नहीं है. वह अपना संघर्ष तब तक जारी रखना चाहते हैं जब तक उन्हें समान अधिकार, अवसर, नागरिकता नहीं मिल जाती। वह चाहते हैं कि काले-गोरे में कोई अंतर न रहे। वे अनुशासन एवं सम्मान के साथ संघर्ष जारी रखने के पक्षधर थे। उनका मानना है कि नीग्रो समुदाय के लिए न्याय का बैंक दिवालिया हो गया है। उनके अनुसार सभी मनुष्य समान हैं। वह गुलामी और गुलामी का पर्दा हटाना चाहता है. वह चाहते हैं कि सभी जातियाँ भाईचारे की मेज पर एक साथ बैठ सकें। काले और गोरे के बीच भेद की पहचान नहीं होनी चाहिए। सभी को योग्यता, मानवता और समानता में विश्वास करना चाहिए। आजादी मिलने के बाद नीग्रो समुदाय अपने जीवन में बड़ा बदलाव महसूस करेगा. वह चाहते हैं कि सभी काले और गोरे लोग हाथ मिला कर चलें. उसे उम्मीद है कि उसका सपना एक दिन पूरा होगा। नीग्रो को आजादी मिलेगी. उसके बाद ऊंचे पहाड़ को नीचा कर दिया जाएगा, हर घाटी रहने के लिए एक खुशहाल जगह होगी, हर कोई हर जगह आजादी का गीत गाएगा। तब सभी एक जैसे होने के लिए ईश्वर को धन्यवाद देंगे। अतः हम कह सकते हैं कि मार्टिन लूथर नीग्रो समुदाय के कल्याण के लिए संघर्ष करते हैं। उनका भाषण दुनिया के सभी वर्गों के लिए एक संदेश है.
